Thoughtful and effective teaching and mentoring prepares students across diverse backgrounds to think critically about how we interact with Earth's surface and each other and supports their discovery with science and stewardship. I value diversity of experience, thought, and culture in my classroom, the field, and my community. To cultivate an environment where all students can thrive, my goals as an educator are to:
I am implementing inclusive pedagogy in the classroom, creating accessible learning environments, and broadening participation in STEM fields.
I am building course curriculums and research projects that foster skills and provide applications for a diversity of earth science careers
Teaching is not static. I am continually taking steps to improve in my role as an ally, a teacher, and a mentor.
